[ARCHIVED] Waymart Man Faces Charges for Sexual Assault of Minor

Wayne County District Attorney A.G. Howell announced the arrest of Gerald Howard Sheerer of Waymart PA for sexually assaulting a minor.  Sheerer is charged with Indecent Assault Person Less Than 13 Years Age, Indecent Assault Person Less Than 16 Years Age, Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse with Child, Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse Person Less than 16 Years age.

The Complaint alleges the Defendant had sexual relations with the minor victim over the course of 6 years and began when the victim was approximately 9 years of age and ended when the victim was approximately 14 years of age.

On December 29, 2021, Mr. Sheerer was charged with aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault for inappropriate with another minor child.  These charges are still pending.  A copy of this Criminal Complaint is also enclosed with this press release.  Certain information has been redacted from the Complaint to protect the identity of the victim.
