[ARCHIVED] Uniondale Man Gets Up to 12 Years in Prison for Contact w/Minors

HONESDALE -- Wayne County District Attorney A.G. Howell announced President Judge Janine Edwards sentenced James Burrows, 48, of Uniondale, Wayne County PA to 28 months to 144 months in a State Correctional Facility after he previously pleading guilty to Corruption of Minors and Unlawful Contact with Minors, both felonies.  

 In November 2021, Burrows was arrested after being caught communicating with a detective from the Massachusetts Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce using social media accounts that depict a young female child. Later in February 2022, Burrows was arrested after communicating with online predator catchers using social media accounts that depicted a young female child.  

He was also ordered to undergo a mandatory period of probation of 6 years, pay the costs of prosecution, and register as a Lifetime Tier III Offender. The incidents occurred between April 19, 2021 through April 30, 2021 and September 20, 2021 through October 4, 2021 in Preston Township.
