[ARCHIVED] Harassment Sends One to County, One to State Prison

HONESDALE -- Wayne County District Attorney A.G. Howell announces the following cases were addressed by Judge Janine Edwards in Wayne County Court on Thursday, April 29:

STEVEN ENGLERT ESTUS, 35, of Lake Ariel was sentenced to undergo incarceration in a State Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 14 months nor more than 60 months for one count of Criminal Trespass-Break Into Structure (F2) and one count of Harassment-Communicate Lewd, Threatening, Etc. Language (M3). He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution. The incidents occurred on December 17, 2019 and October 14, 2020 in Lake Township.

MICHAEL JOHN POTOPOWICZ, 49, of Gouldsboro was sentenced to 6 months probation for one count of Harassment-Communicate Lewd, Threatening, Etc. Language (M3). He was also ordered to pay the cost of prosecution, pay restitution in the amount of $370.00, undergo a mental health evaluation and comply with any recommendations for treatment, complete an anger management program, and have no contact with the victim or the victim’s family. The incident occurred on May 23, 2020 in Lehigh Township.

ZACHARY ALFRED BAHAJ, 29, of New York, NY, was placed on the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program for a period of 6 months related to a DUI. He was also ordered to pay all costs, undergo a Drug and Alcohol Evaluation and comply with all recommendations for treatment, complete the Alcohol Highway Safety program, perform 20 hours of community service and have his operator’s privileges suspended for 30 days. The incident occurred on June 24, 2020 in Dreher Township.

KARL EDWARD BUSINSKI, 56, of Newfoundland was placed on the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program for a period of 6 months related to a DUI. He was also ordered to pay all costs, undergo a Drug and Alcohol Evaluation and comply with all recommendations for treatment, complete the Alcohol Highway Safety program, perform 20 hours of community service and have his operator’s privileges suspended for 60 days. The incident occurred on August 15, 2020 in Dreher Township.

 JONATHAN RYAN CRAWN, 21, of Hawley was placed on the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program for a period of 6 months related to Possession Small Amount Marijuana and related charges. He was also ordered to pay all costs, undergo a Drug and Alcohol Evaluation and comply with all recommendations for treatment, complete the Alcohol Highway Safety program, and perform 20 hours of community service. The incident occurred on February 15, 2021 in Hawley Borough.

LEONARD STEWART, 45, of Wilkes-Barre was placed on the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program for a period of 6 months related to a DUI. He was also ordered to pay all costs, undergo a Drug and Alcohol Evaluation and comply with all recommendations for treatment, complete the Alcohol Highway Safety program, perform 20 hours of community service and have his operator’s privileges suspended for 60 days. The incident occurred on November 23, 2018, in Salem Township.

ROBERT SHAWN WEATHERLY JR, 24, of Milford was sentenced to pay a fine of $150.00 for one count of Unsworn Falsification-Statement Under Penalty (M3). He was also ordered to pay the cost of prosecution. The incident took place on March 20, 2020
