HONESDALE -- Wayne County District Attorney A.G. Howell announced today the arrest of Mark D. McElroy, age 45, of Honesdale, PA on charges of Corruption of Minors (M1), Harassment (M3), and Disorderly Conduct (M3). Wayne County Detectives and Honesdale Borough Police launched an investigation into McElroy’s online conduct with children under the age of 18, after receiving reports from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

According to the criminal complaint and affidavit of probable cause filed by Wayne County Detective Michael McMorrow and Honesdale Borough Police Detective Lieutenant Robert Langman, the complainant in this case was contacted and disclosed that the defendant was recently on Instagram and TikTok asking children between the ages of 8 to 12 years old to provide or post videos of themselves urinating in their pants.

The complainant also provided detectives with screen shots of messages connected to the defendant’s conduct online. In the messages, McElroy is observed to be talking about lewd, graphic, and inappropriate topics for minor children.
