HONESDALE – In light of the current state restrictions on in-person dining and gatherings, the Wayne County Area Agency on Aging has suspended congregate meals and activities beginning Monday, Dec. 14, 2020
The restrictions pertain to all three Senior Centers in Honesdale, Hawley and Hamlin as well as the Adult Daily Living Center in Hawley. Both drive-through and delivered meals will be available with advance reservations. Please call the appropriate facility at least 24 hours in advance:
- Honesdale Senior Center – 570-253-5540
- Hawley Senior Center – 570-226-4209
- Hamlin Senior Center – 570-689-3766
- Adult Daily Living Center – 570-390-7388
Officials at the agency tentatively plan to resume congregate meals and activities on Jan. 4, 2021.
During this time, the Aging Office and senior center in Hawley will remain open, but officials respectfully ask that individuals call first and schedule appointments, and conduct business over the phone whenever possible. The Hamlin Senior Center will be closed with the exceptioin of takeout distribution from 11 am to 12 pm. Please call the Honesdale Office for assistance.
Aging Administrator Mary Ursich said, “We kindly ask that individuals who have traveled out of state or out of the county or anyone who has attended large gatherings, refrain from returning to the centers for a period of 10 days.”
