W]\\\\ayne County District Attorney A.G. Howell announced today that members of the Wayne County Drug Task Force conducted a saturation patrol throughout Wayne County on October 21, 2020 from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
A total of twenty-one officers from the Waymart Borough Police Department, Honesdale Borough Police Department, Hawley Borough Police Department, Lehigh Township Police Department, Wayne County Sheriffs, Wayne County Adult Probation and Wayne County Detectives participated.
Officers conducted a total of sixty-nine traffic stops which resulted in numerous traffic citations being issued. Six of the stops resulted in arrests for DUI and drug related offenses.
While participating with the Drug Task Force, municipal officers are given jurisdiction throughout the entire County. Funding for the saturation patrol is provided by the Wayne County District Attorney’s Office through the through the Drug Task Force.
