[ARCHIVED] Senior Centers Continue to Provide Curbside Meal Pick Up Service

The Wayne County Area Agency on Aging continues to provide curbside pick-up for weekday lunches at the Senior Centers. In addition to weekday dine-in meals at the facilities in Hamlin, Hawley and Honesdale, meals are also available for pickup.

The County has received funding that allows this program to continue through September of 2021.

In order to receive the meals you must make a reservation by 1 pm the day prior to pick up, since the kitchen only prepares the number of meals that were ordered:

  • Hamlin Senior Center – (570-689-3766) use side door off of parking lot for drive thru, look for sign – 11:00 to 11:30 pick up
  • Hawley Senior Center – (570-226-4209),use kitchen window on side of building, look for sign – 11:45 to 12:45 pick up
  • Honesdale Senior Center – (570-253-5540) use the river side of the building at loading dock – 11 to 12 Noon pick up

The meals are available to those age 60 and older for a suggested donation of $2.50 and $5.50 for those under age 60. The community is also invited to Sponsor a Senior by making an online tax deductible contribution through the Wayne County Community Foundation.

Senior who would like to dine in, may call these numbers for reservations, availability is limited. Seniors can also opt for in-home meal delivery by calling 570-253-4262 and asking for the Intake Department to be screened and registered.
