HONESDALE (April 2, 2020) – The Wayne County Prothonotary’s Office has adjusted it operations after an Administrative Order issued by the Wayne County Court of Common Pleas requires that court filings be submitted via mail, except for emergency matters that require the petitioner to appear before the court.
A special e-mail has been created to accept those emergency filings, which will be printed and filed as if submitted via mail or in person.
The order also suspends the requirement for the immediate payment of filing fees for emergency filings by email, and the Prothonotary’s Office will keep a log of those accumulated fees, which must be paid once the judicial emergency declared in mid-March has expired.
