HONESDALE (Feb. 16, 2020) -- In March, the Wayne County Area Agency on Aging presents Living Well -- Chronic Disease Self-Management, a six-week program recommended by the US Department of Health & Human Service to help teach consumers the skills to manage their conditions and build their self-confidence.
The program is designed to give older adults with chronic diseases like high blood pressure, diabetes and heart conditions tips to be successful in adopting healthy behaviors, improving communication with their physician, and enhancing their quality of life.
It will be held Mondays, March 2 to April 6, from 11 am to 3 pm, at the Honesdale Senior Center at 323 10th Street, and topics include managing symptoms, fitness and exercise, nutrition, communication, medication, and working with health care professionals and the system.
