HONESDALE – Each year, the Wayne County Area Agency on Aging sponsors a series of bus trips to different locations and events. The trips are not restricted to seniors, anyone can join the fun and there are still spaces left for the two overnight trips this year.
First, a bus travels to Cape May, NJ, for a four-day, three-night trip featuring a Trolley Tour of the Historic District, Elaine's Dinner Theatre, and a Dolphin Watch Boat Cruise. There will be a trip to the Cape May Zoo, Learning Run Botanical Gardens and Atlantic City along with lodging at the Grand Hotel and more.
The bus will leave September 23 from the Honesdale McDonald’s at 8 am, the Hawley Senior Center at 8:30 and Hamlin Senior Center at 9 o’clock. The cost is $550 a person for double occupancy and $760 for a single. The bus returns on Sept. 26.
Some seats are also available for a trip to Gettysburg and the National Apple Festival in Adams County, PA, from Oct. 13 to 14. The cost is $220 per person for double occupancy ($265 single). The package includes one night lodging at Comfort Suites in Gettysburg, breakfast at the hotel, lunch at Hickory Ridge Farm Restaurant, one dinner, the Apple Harvest Festival and Historic Gettysburg Battlefield Tour and Cyclorama at the museum.
