[ARCHIVED] Honesdale Area Food Pantry Rescheduled

HONESDALE -- The Honesdale area food pantry distribution has been rescheduled in light of the predicted inclement weather expected on Tuesday.

Instead, the distribution will take place on Thursday, February 14,at the same time -- 10 am to 1 pm.

The Wayne County Food Pantry Program provides nutritious shelf staples which may supplement the applicant’s food budget on a regular monthly basis. The food items vary, and are dependent upon what may be available from the U.S Department of Agriculture, what food has been privately donated, and what may be purchased with available funds and monetary donations. Typically, a monthly food bag may contain canned fruit, meat, vegetables, potatoes, spaghetti, etc.

To register at the food pantry site, applicants must bring proof of physical address, such as a current utility bill. No PO Boxes. In addition, applicant should know the names, dates of birth, last four digits of Social Security numbers, and income for all household members.

To support the pantry program, monetary donations can be made out to Wayne County Food Pantry and mailed to 323 Tenth Street, Honesdale, PA 18431.
