On June 5, 2018, Wayne County District Attorney Patrick L. Robinson announced the arrest of Derek T. Mills-Kizer, 25, of Honesdale on one count of Flight to Avoid Apprehension, Trial or Punishment, a third degree Felony.
The charge is the result of an incident on May 10, when Mills-Kizer fled from deputies with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, who were attempting to take him into custody on a bench warrant. The bench warrant had been issued by Wayne County Senior Judge Raymond Hamill for failure to appear for a court hearing for a parole violation for Receiving Stolen Property, a Felony.
On May 31, Mills-Kizer was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Linus Myers. Bail was set at $5,000 and he was remanded to the Wayne County Correctional Facility. His Central Court date is scheduled for Wednesday at 9:00 am.
