Pike County Conservation District will be hosting a seminar on the permitting process for Spotted Lanternfly Thursday, Dec. 4, 9:30 to 10:30 am at the Wallenpaupack Environmental Learning Center. Kristen Cease from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture will be speaking about Spotted Lanternfly, the permit process, and administering the permit test that day.
Businesses, agencies and organizations that are located in or working within the quarantine counties are required to have a permit for all of their vehicles. Also, businesses who travel in, out, or throughout the quarantine zone are required to have a permit for their vehicles.

The workshop will discuss "Understanding Alheimer's and Dementia" including symptoms and effect of the disease, other types of dementia, how Alheimer's affects the brain along with causes and risk factors. It will also look at "Effective Communication Strategies" by explaining the communication changes that take place throughout the course of the disease and decoding verbal and behavioral messages and respond in way that are helpful to the person. Also, Attorney Kevin R. Grebas, a Certified Elder Law Attorney, will discuss concerns for the aging, itellectual disabilities and special needs community.
