    Understanding the behavioral health issues in aging can assist in bridging services, provided needed community-based intervention and directly affect the older adult and their families. Optimize Aging is beginning a new “Behavioral Health Webinar Series” this fall” to provide education to professionals specifically in regards to behavioral health issues: how to assess; how to appropriately intervene; accessing resources and to problem solve and build relationships with other community providers.   5. Tools for Person Driven Planning

    Youth engagement in transition planning is critical to ensuring that students have a voice in the development of their IEP and take an active role in their career development and post-secondary goal planning process. Person Driven Planning (PDP) grew out of a commitment to inclusion as a social goal. This webinar will review several different tools for IEP teams to consider, including: Life Course Tools; Making Action Plans (MAPS); Planning for Alternative Tomorrows with Hope (PATH); and ReNEW. Each tool will be described by a person trained in its use. Presenters will share their experiences and field questions from participants.

  2. Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxiliary LoveLites

    December 7, 2020, 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM @ Wayne Memorial Hospital

    The community is invited to participate in the LoveLites programt by filling out a coupon and sending in a suggested donation of $5 for each loved one named. The coupon can be found at the hospital information desk in the main lobby or on the hospital’s website. The outdoor ceremony will include a blessing of the Memory Book containing the names of loved ones, as well as live music by the St. Tikhon’s Seminary Choir and the Honesdale High School Chorus. This year’s program will also include a few moments to reflect upon the lives of those lost on the same day in 1941, when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. “Grab and go” refreshments will be offered following the ceremony. The Memory Book will be on display in the hospital lobby from Dec. 7 until January 8, 2021. It will also be posted on the hospital’s website.
