    The six-week session at Wayne Memorial Hospital will focus on grief as a normal part of an individual’s transition through life. Acknowledging that grief is a very individual process, the sessions will encourage participants to explore their own solutions to the challenges of living without their loved ones and dealing with the many changes that follow a loss. The support group will be facilitated by Reverend Edward K. Erb, a Wayne Memorial Hospital and Hospice chaplain and Ms. Walsh. The group will provide a safe place in which individuals can sort out their feelings and share as they are able and willing. No one will be required to share.

  5. Rural Human Trafficking Summit

    The Pennsylvania Office of Rural Health, in partnership with the Region III Office of the Health Resources and Services Administration, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services; the Eastcentral and Northeast Pennsylvania Area Health Education Center; and the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape, is offering this one-day continuing education and outreach event to continue a rural human trafficking collaborative with an emphasis on rural prevention, treatment, and community collaboration. Hear stories from victims of human trafficking and learn about the impact of this crisis in Pennsylvania, the role of law enforcement, and how health care providers are trained to identify victims of human trafficking and how community partnerships address this pervasive issue.

    This outdoor course winds through 550 acres of wooded nature trails and access roads, all on the grounds of Lacawac Sanctuary.     In case of inclement weather, please call 253-4646 two hours before the start of your distribution day for an automated message. For information about how to register with a pantry, you should call 253 - 4262. Please bring large brown paper bags & plastic bags with you each month to recycle. Bring Campbell’s labels to distribute to schools. If you are unable to attend, you may ask someone to pick your food up for you. However, they must have your pantry card and a note/proxy giving them permission to pick up your food.

    The Suicide Prevention Task Force is seeking public input on ideas for suicide prevention, education around mental health and suicide, and how to dispel the stigma around suicide and mental health. Many Pennsylvanians have expressed interest in sharing their personal stories — whether as the family of or a friend to loss survivors, attempt survivors, health providers, or community members — to raise awareness and help suicide prevention efforts in any way possible. The public’s voice will help task force members shape a statewide suicide prevention plan that will include recommendations, not only for state government, but for stakeholders and communities to carry forward and implement.
