June 2 Primary Election Sample Ballots

The Primary Election is when political parties choose their candidates to stand in the General Election in November. Those who are registered as Democrats or Republicans can only vote in their own party’s election. However, there are write-in spaces available for each position on the ballot, where the names of other candidates can be added. But those votes only count for nomination in that party’s Primary Election. For example, votes cast for a Republican candidate on a Demcratic ballot will not be added to the Republican vote tally.
